Founded in 1927 by Livio & Mary Perla, in Braddock, Perla's Appliances Plus is now in its fourth generation of family ownership. Â About 40 years ago, a Swissvale location was opened, and now we are in the Swissvale Shopping Center, just next door to the Swissvale Post Office.Our location is easy for all of our Allegheny County customers to reach, being less than a 30 minute drive from anywhere in the county, and 15 minutes or less from well over half of the population in the county.In addition to our selection of products now offered for sale, we still offer in-home service of all major kitchen and laundry appliances, regardless where purchased, and offer replacement parts for sale both in our store and on-line.We have also just added on-line sales for all our products, being able to provide our level of pricing and expertise to those located outside our area, as well as the typical level of follow-up and help when needed we offer all our customers. Meet the Business Owner Rocco P. Business Owner Rocco, 51, is originally from Swissvale, for the past 30 years has lived in Churchill with his wife of 30 years, Georgeann. Â Rocco and Georgeann have four adult children, two sons and two daughters.Rocco has been with this family business over 30 years full-time, and even before that part-time while still in school. Â He has been to service schools and product training sessions, and manufacturer's facilities all over the country, including Viking in Greenwood, Mississipi, Maytag in Tennessee, SubZero in Phoenix, Arizona, Dacor in Pasadena, California, and many other facilities also.Organizations Rocco has been a part of with Perla's Appliances Plus are NARDA, the National Association of Retail Dealers of America, PSA, the Professional Servicers Association, AVB-Brand-Source, the buying and merchandising group Perla's were long-time members of, and ADC, Appliance Distributors Cooperative, a multi-billion dollar cooperative who has just completed a huge, new facility in the area. |
