History Established in 1983. CityHome Vacuum started out as Best Vacuum in 1983.  In  1995 we expanded to online sales and by 2005 we grew to become one of the largest independent online vacuum retailers in the U.S.In 2016 we sold our website and the trademark Bestvacuum.com to an e-tail investment group, but we kept our local stores.  Only the name has changed.  CItyHome is our new name, but we're still the  same owners and the same crew that you've been trusting your local business to for over thirty years.Come by and see how we (haven't) changed! Meet the Business Owner Mark D. Business Owner Hi!  My name is Mark.  I own a vacuum store because of a cat named BooBoo.  In 1997 my partner Phil and I adopted a cat from the Anti Cruelty Society.  I fell head over heels in love with my new friend and then developed allergy-induced asthma because of him.  After suffering with it for a few months, I bought a high filtration vacuum and air purifier from this nice little store on Lincoln Ave.  Long story short- I was able to keep BooBoo and liked the founder of the business so much I went to work for him managing the store and the growth of the internet business.  In 2009 the founder retired and sold me the business. Phil came on board shortly after and we opened a second location in Oak Park where our small local business has been going strong ever since. Over the last twenty years much has changed, but most of our crew is still the same and we've kept true to our values of completely honest advice, top-quality products and no pushy sales.  Something we can all be proud of. |
